I often spend time in reminiscence. This purely private and inexplicable state has become an essential part my spiritual life. The power of these recollections strengthens with time passing by until it becomes so strong that I have no choice but to find a way to express them.

The photographs in the "They" series are the result of what I've been doing over the past few years. Most people I photographed are my friends, my parents, and myself. By restaging old photographs and strictly adhering to the way they were taken (for instance, each person must stay in the same positions), I intend not only to show changes than have taken place on people and society over the time, but to re-creat the past, even only for that moment when the shutter snaps.
