"The Series of Motherland made a modern explanation to the sculptures' strength of Qin and Han dynasties. He endowed the living postures to the solidifying figurines of the Qin Dynasty and connected the figures' inflexible will and the Chinese nation's temperament together. All of these made us feel the strong calling of the ancient civilization. This did not repeat the sculpture mould of the Qin and Han dynasties. It was the re-understanding to the Chinese humane spirit. During Cai's artworks all the people in Qin Dynasty appear by the way of the modernism style. It not only irradiated the aesthetic feeling of the material but also transmitted a solemn and quiet, classical artistic conception by the skillful method. And it attained a kind of order and balance coming from a rational strictness through the modest mould and skillful handle of the materials."[1]
