comprising: an iron-red and gilt charger painted with two dragons chasing a flaming pearl, Guangxu six character mark and of the period, two famille rose plates, two armorial dishes, two famille rose cups, two famille rose vases, a set of seven blue and white dinner plates, eight blue and white saucers and three cups

The armorial dish with the thick blue and white foliate border and crest with a lion and knight's arm holding arm holding a sword are the MacDonald, of Saint Martin's. This service was probably made for William MacDonald, of Ratathan and Saint Martin's Abbey in Perthshire (Scotland) which he inherited from his father. See David S.
