A pair of peach-shaped cups and saucers Qianlong

the cups shaped as a peach with pointed tip and  feet and a branche-like handle issuing a blossom and two leaves, the interior decorated with flowers, the saucers decorated with three bats and a fungus

A similar cup and saucer has been sold at Sotheby´s Hong Kong, sale HK0189, lot 211 and another set also at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 27th January, 1976, lot 6. A related set with a saucer depicting a pair of spotted deer, a pair of cranes and a pine tree is illustrated in Frank Davis, The Enchantment of  Painted Canton Enamels, The Connoisseur, June 1957, pl.6; and another saucer with this design, in hte Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, is published in T.B. Arapova, Chinese Painted Enamels, Moscow, 1988, pl.61.
