Catalogue Note
An almost identical pendant signed by Giuliano and Phillips is illustrated by Geoffrey C. Munn, Castellani and Giuliano, Revivalist Jewellers of the 19th Century, pl. 28. The two signatures on the pendant illustrate the relationship that Carlo Giuliano had with prominent retail houses during his first years in London. Another similar is illustrated by Peter Hinks, Nineteenth Century Jewellery, pl. G(a).
