Renaissance-revival gold, enamel and diamond picture frame, Carlo Giuliano, 1874-1895

Of openwork scroll design elaborately decorated with black and white piqué enamel, further enhanced with eight old-mine diamonds in silver settings, the inner border decorated with formal foliage in translucent green enamel, the gold engraved strut resembling a sheaf of papyrus secured by a gold chain, 6¾ by 5¾ inches, signed C.G.  With original fitted gilt-embossed leather case signed C. Giuliano.
