Description
Comprising a necklace, a bracelet and two brooches, decorated in Indian taste with round and pear-shaped chrysoprase cabochons within openwork frames of scroll design set with cushion-shaped rubies, the necklace supporting a fringe of pearl drops, the bracelet and brooches decorated with egg-shaped pearls, together with a hair pin attachment for the circular brooch, necklace and bracelet lengths 14 and 7 inches, bracelet and brooches signed C.G. With original fitted leather case signed C. Giuliano, the cover gilt-embossed with initals E.A.G..

Catalogue Note
Emily Anna Gibbs, neƩ Otter, whose initials appear on the lid of the case for this parure, married Martin Gibbs of Barrow Court, Somerset, with whom she had eight sons and a daughter. The Gibbs family were merchant bankers and are generally considered one of Carlo Giuliano's most prominent patrons between the years of 1863 and 1895.
