Description

  • Carlo Giuliano
Designed as bachelor's buttons, the openwork petals centering upon clusters of granulation, signed C.G.

Catalogue Note

Giuliano experimented with the art of granulation for only a few years after his arrival in London in 1860. After his death in 1895, a collection of jewelry decorated in this way was left to the South Kensington Museum, now the Victoria and Albert Museum. The museum's acquisition registers list a number of studs similar to those offered here.
