According to Geoffrey Munn, the enamel work on this brooch was done by the firm of Kempson and Mauger late Messrs. Wingroves, and a rubbing of it appears in their record book with the cost price to Giuliano of twelve shillings and six pence for the work.
The style of this jewel simulates the popular Eastern practice of decorating turquoise intaglios with gold inlay.
