Catalogue Note

The mark on the underside of this box (C.G.and A.G. in a quatrefoil) is the maker's mark for Carlo and Arthur Giuliano registered at the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in London and differs from the mark found on their jewelry. The present example is purported to be the only recorded example of their silver mark.
