Catalogue Note
According to Geoffrey Munn, a necklace composed of three motifs of very similar design to this pendant is owned by Her Majesty the Queen, illustrated in Castellani and Giuliano, Revivalist Jewellers of the 19th Century, pl. 170. These jewels belong to a series that were likely inspired by commisisons the firm received from Sir Edward Burne-Jones around 1895.
