Catalogue Note
During the 1830's and 1840's Hunt painted a series of pictures of young girls in colourful dress, captured during a moments repose. Similar representations include, Young Girl Reclining on a Coach, 1830 now in the Cecil Higgins Art Gallery, Bedford and Slumber, 1835, now in the Birmingham City Museum and Art Gallery.
