Catalogue Note

Hailing from Bristol, George Arthur Fripp first exhibited at the Old Watercolour Society in 1841. In the same year he was elected an Associate of the Society, and in 1845 he became a full Member. Sunningdale in Berkshire was a subject clearly favoured by Fripp, four similar versions of this scene have previously been sold in these Rooms.
