Catalogue Note
The sitter was the daughter of George Lockhart of Carnwath, County Lanark, and his wife, Eupheme, 4th daughter of Alexander Mountgomerie, 9th Earl of Eglintoun. She married, as his third wife, John Fleming, 6th Earl of Wigton.
