Catalogue Note
According to historical information provided by the current owner, this mirror was in Castle Erdmannsdorf in Silesia as part of the collection of King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia and Queen Luise and their descendants from about 1810 until it was sold at auction by H.C. Kruger of Berlin in 1924 (Auction Lepke). It was in various private collections in Braunschweig and Berlin from the time of the 1924 auction until 1993, when it was sold in Zurich as part of a suite of furniture attributed to Karl Friederich Schinkel or his circle.
