Catalogue Note

The offered urns are possibly by the Parisian firm of Boudet, as they are identical in form to another pair also sold at Christie's New York on October 30, 1993 as lot 255.  The firm was recorded as being located at 43 Boulevard des Capuchines from 1886 and specialized in bronzes and ornamental works of art.  Yet another pair of this model was offered at Christie's New York on November 4, 1992, as lot 26.
