Description

each pair of doors opening to a drawer shelf
Condition
The cabinet in good antique condition other than: There is a visible shrinkage crack to the right side, and other repaired/filled shrinkage cracks to sides and front of case; each door rests on wooden "pin hinges" as is usual in Asian furniture and all these have been restored in the past, making the doors operate well. The whole lacquer surface was probably once decorated with foliage (only a faint bit of this remains on the lower right side); the red lacquer surface is distressed overall, with craquelure and wear throughout, at times down to wood, which creates a pleasant patina of age and use.
