Description

  • An Italo-Corinthian Olpe
  • Height 18 1/2 in. 47 cm.
with torus foot and triple handle flanked by rotelles on the rim, the body painted in brown and red with four registers containing friezes of sphinxes, bulls, lions, owls, boar, and deer, all facing right, rosettes in the field, rays above the foot, quatrefoils on the neck and lip, wheels on the rotelles.
