Catalogue Note
The flags of Denmark, United States, Sweden, Great Britain and France are visible. This painting appears to be dated to 1800-1803. It can be ascribed to this date because there is the Union Jack flag of 1800 and the French flag, which was removed in 1803 and not hoisted again until 1832.
