  • Each plate c. 308 by 420 mm (12 1/8 by 16 1/2 in)
Four hand-colored engravings, from Twelve Months of Flowers, engraved by Henry Fletcher, published by Robert Furber, London, 1730, on laid paper backed with wove, apparently in good condition apart from losses and tears at the sheet edges, some extending into the images, occasional creasing, slight discoloration, framed (4 prints) (only December examined out of the frame)



Condition Notes:
December (Examined out of frame): Short tears at each sheet edge, two circa 3 inches at upper sheet edge extending into image; additional losses particularly at left sheet edge, made-up/backed with wove support sheet; surface soiling, time and light-stain
February: Tears at the upper sheet edge (or possible creases partially broken through) extending approx. 3 inches into image; lower margin/sheet edge with losses partially made-up with wove support sheet
October: series of creases, tears at upper right corner, with made-up loss; same at right sheet edge center, shallow tears at left sheet edge with area lifting up, general discoloration
November: partially broken through creases/tears at upper, lower and left sheet edges, in image at lower left, general discoloration.
