Catalogue Note

This exquisite ''peacock'' box is closely related to a small group of enameled boxes attributed to Frank J. Marshall, a Boston metalsmith and enamelist highly regarded for his superb technical skills in producing distinct copper boxes and enameled discs. Marshall became a member of the Boston Society of Arts and Crafts in 1907. That same year he exhibited at the society's Tenth Anniversary Exhibition, and by 1913 he earned the distinction of Master Craftsman.
