Catalogue Note

This lot is accompanied by a copy of a letter written from Elbert Hubbard to the original owner of the benches, Dr. Will J. Cavanagh. The letter is dated March 12, 1915, just a few months prior to Hubbard's death aboard the ill-fated Lusitania.
