A pair of bronze, gilt-bronze and rouge griotte marble vases partly Directoire

each of campana form, with a ribbed rim, above a band of of cherub musicians, the sides with scrolled corbels supporting spirally-twist handles terminating in a ram's mask, the lower section with an alternating band of leaves and flowerheads, on a flared socle and stepped plinth base, the mounts and central band later 

A virtually identical pair with covers was sold as lot 3, Christie's, London, 9th June 2005.
