Catalogue Note
A pencil inscription on the verso describes this drawing as a study of Benrath by Lecomte. The artist won 1st prize at the Royal Academy of Architecture in 1786. Benrath was built by Nicolas de Pigâge, a pupil of Blondel, for Carl Théodore and Elizabeth August in 1756.
