Description

each with an outward scrolled padded rectangular back, above straight arms terminating in roundels,  above a bowed padded seat,  on winged Egyptian term front supports terminating in paw feet, three bearing the stamp Jacob. D.R. Meslee; restorations and repatinated 

Catalogue Note

These chairs are in the manner of Jacob in the Retour d'Egypte style during the Consulat years of the nascent republic. A similar model with padded arms was offered as lot 114 in these Rooms 2nd  December, 1983 sale bearing the stamp Jacob Frères, wich was comissioned for the Tuileries Palace in 1800.  Another similar pair was sold as lot 366 Chrisite's London, 26th October 2001.
