The model of this clock is based upon the celebrated painting by David of the `Oath of the Horatiae'. Several related models are in the English  Royal Collection, the Residenz Munich and the Royal Palace Stockholm. The model for this clock is recorded as manufactured by Galle and also Feuchère.
