This one-off desk was commissioned by the former owner from Amsterdam cabinet-maker Robert Clarijs in the 1990's to resemble the famous large desk designed by Henri van de Velde for Berlin editor Ludwig Löffler in 1889, now in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nürnberg
