The present work represents a portrait gallery where the likenesses of distinguished Jewish men and women hang as testament to their contribution to society.  Learned fields, including science, medicine, literature, the arts, music, law, economics, religion, philosophy and industry are represented in the work.  There are over 900 portraits in the painting.  The hanging committee in the foreground are preparing an exhibition of paintings commemorating the Second World War and descriptive titles of these works can be found on p.23 of the accompanying booklet.

On the inside of the cover of the booklet: This painting is dedicated to the millions of my people martyred in the greatest racial persecution in Jewish History.
