Catalogue Note

French Park in Co. Roscommon was an early Palladian winged house of red brick; probably built in 1729 by John French to the design of Richard Castle. Arthur French, 4th Lord De Freyne, carried out many alterations to the interior of the house, including compartmented plasterwork ceilings in the late nineteenth century. The house was sold by the 7th Lord de Freyne in 1953 and afterwards demolished.
