Description

  • 96 cm; 46.5 cm
the circular marble with maple leaves supported by three lion headed monopedic supports joined by a stretcher with a marble flame finial. 

Catalogue Note

The fondeur and bronzier G. Servant was recorded at 137, rue Vieille-du-Temple, Paris. He specialized in Greek and Egyptian Revival creations and was a medallist at the major international exhibitions between 1867 and 1887. G. Servant's display at the Paris 1867 Exposition Universelle is described in The Art Journal Catalogue of the Paris Universelle Exposition of 1867, London, 1867, pp. 20 & 116 and in Jules Mesnard, Les Merveilles de l'Exposition de 1867, Paris, 1867, pp. 167-168.
