Catalogue Note

Jean-Louis-Benjamin Gros was recorded as ebeniste and marqueteur at 27 rue des Blancs-Manteaux until 1850 and at 43 rue des Tournelles between 1850 and 1863. It is known that he was also associated with Winckelsen acting as its main cabinet-maker. His son Aristide-Henry took over the business following Jean retirement. Both father and son exhibited at the major 19th century Exposition Universelle .
