the breakfront marble top above an acanthus cast molded border, each support carved with a stop-fluted column, on block feet, with a fire screen marked with patera at the corners and centered by a flower-filled classical vase flanked by floral garlands.

the design of the present fire surround is based on the model by Pierre Gouthière for the Petit Salon of Marie-Antoinette at the Chateau de Fontainebleau.
