each leg headed by a foliate and bare breasted espagnolette and joined by a stretcher centred by a foliate finial, stamped seven times ZJ/1689 on the top of three of the legs and on each stretcher.

Catalogue Note

Zwiener Jansen Successeur was a ‘department’ of the Maison Jansen production. Jean-Henri Jansen bought the Zwiener archives and rights around 1900, renaming it Zwiener Jansen Successeur and marking the bronze mounts ZJ.
