Description

  • height 12 in.; width 15 1/8 in.
  • 30.5 cm; 38.5 cm
painted by Heyn and signed lower right, impressed KPM beneath a spectre and large script letters D. C in black ink on the reverse.  Set within an antique carved giltwood frame.

Catalogue Note

This plaque was painted after Pompeo Girolamo Batoni's (1708-1787) original masterpiece, circa 1742, which hung in the Staatliche museum, Gemaldegalerie Dresden until it was destroyed in World War II.
