Catalogue Note
Painted after Baron Cuno von Bodenhausen, German (b. 1852) and based on Sir Edward Bulwer-Lytton's Nydia from The Last Days of Pompeii. It is possible that Nydia is depicted here before the "House of the Tragic Poet", Pompeii.
