- the plaque height 21 1/8 in. width 17 1/8 in.
- 53.5 cm; 43.5 cm
painted by Langhamer and signed on the lower right, with impressed KPM beneath a spectre and incised measurement 20 1/2. 16 1/2 on the reverse. Set within a carved giltwood frame.
Catalogue Note
The present lot depitcts The Annunciation, where the archangel Gabriel was sent to Nazareth in Galilee to the Virgin Mary to announce to her that she had been chosen by God to bear his son. The figure of the archangel is very well repesented and finely painted.
