- height 17 1/4 in. (43.8cm)
of slender square section, covered in a partially matt glaze in shades of blue, grey and cream, the ovoid panels on the body and neck flanked on each of the four corners with a molded ear of wheat, incised Mougin and number 6504.
Catalogue Note
Brothers Joseph (1876-1961) and Pierre (1879-1955) Mougin worked in stoneware at Nancy from circa 1905 until around 1914. Stonewares of the present type were exhibited at the Exposition de l"Ecole de Nancy in Paris in 1903 and at the Exposition de l'Est de la France at Nancy in 1909, photographs of which are reproduced by Alastair Duncan, The Paris Salons 1895-1914, Vol. IV, pp. 349-354.
