Catalogue Note

The design of the present pair of guéridons relates closely to the guéridon à double colonnettes, a creation of Adam Weisweiler (maître 1778).  He produced several variations of the table, most frequently inset with marble, as in the present lot, but also with lapis lazulis, jasperware, porcelain-inset tops, and lacquered.
