Description

  • height 22 3/8 in.
  • 57 cm
in the Neoclassical style, with entwined candlearms finely cast with acanthus-leaf nozzles, signed h. Vian at circular base.

Catalogue Note

The bronzier and fondeur Henry Vian (1860-1905) produced articles of the highest quality.  The signature can be either in script, usually with a lower case first letter for the Christian name as in the present lot, or more commonly initialized in later pieces.
