Catalogue Note

Ferdinando Andreini studied under Ulysse Cambo and worked primarily in Florence.  He exhibited from 1861 in various Salons especially in Turin and Florence.  The present marble belongs to a series of sculptures executed during the last quarter of the nineteenth century focusing on the nude or scantily-clad female figure.
