Catalogue Note

Antonio Tantardini studied under Bartolini.  He sculpted a number of important monuments such as the Cavour Monument in Milan, the Arnold de Brescia statue, and the Independence Monument in Vienna.

La Bagnanti (The Bathing Woman) was exhibited for the first time at the 1862 International Exhibition in London.
