Catalogue Note
Emile-Edmond Peynot (d. 1932) was born in 1850 in France. He studied under Jouffroy and Robinet and exhibited at the Salon from 1873. Winning the Prix de Rome in 1880 and numerous medals between 1883 and 1886, he won gold medals at the Expositions Universelles of 1889 and 1900. E. Peynot became a Chevalier de la Légion d' Honneur in 1891 and an Officier in 1903.
