A large German carved ivory tankard 1870

the lid surmounted by a crying cherub seated on a naturalistic base, the body intricately carved in high relief with a bacchanal scene, putti and satyrs against a forest background with architectural elements, the scrolled handle with Renaissance style masks and fronted by Psyche and Cupid.
