Catalogue Note

This model is recorded by Lami amongst Mêne's Salon exhibits as Amazone: MME L... montant Monte-Christo, cheval anglais pur sang. It was originally shown in wax at the 1865 Salon (no.3075) and two years later in bronze (no.2389). The Susse foundry also produced the model.
