Catalogue Note

Hussman was the author of many fine equestrian bronzes. In addition to equestrian studies he modelled several horse and rider groups such as the Olympischer sieger which he sent to the Grosse Berliner Kunstaustellung in 1907. The present cast is a rare example of his use of polychrome patinas and presents an impressive silhouette.
