about 50 leaves and fragments (some in bifolia) from about 22 manuscripts, including (a) a vertical strip from a noted Breviary, good script, red initial, France or southern Low Countries, mid-thirteenth century; (b) most of a bifolium from a noted Missal, 340mm. by 246mm., red and blue initials with contrasting penwork, early fourteenth century; (c) 4 leaves (2 bifolia) from a Breviary, 195mm. by 155mm., double column, 30 lines, initials throughout in red or blue with good penwork in purple or red, Spain, fifteenth century; (d) a gathering of 8 leaves from a Psalter, 117mm. by 83mm., double column, 33 lines, initials throughout in red, blue and purple, large illuminated initial ‘D’ (“Dixit insipiens …”), 6-line with full-length illuminated border, northern Italy, second half of the fifteenth century; (e) 13 leaves (a couple of gatherings) from a Psalter, Psalms 136-147, on paper, 142mm. by 106mm., red initials, Germany, fifteenth century; (f) a bifolium, 185mm. by 131mm., on the offices to be said for Saint Bernardinus, citing a document of 1472; (g) a leaf of prayers in Spanish, on paper, late fifteenth century; (h) 4 paper leaves (defective) with rosary invocations of the Virgin, late fifteenth century; (i) a table of contents of a Missal, c.1500; together with (j) about 13 other fragments from liturgical manuscripts, some with initials and music; many recovered from bindings and many more-or-less defective; from the Rooryck Collection
