- A Rare Gold Minute Repeating WristwatchCirca 1950, Movement No. 451908, Case No. 317999
- diameter 36mm.
18k, nickel lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, 29 jewels, precision regulator, adjusted to temperatures and 2 positions, minute repeating on two gongs, slide repeat, silvered matte dial, ridged chapter ring, applied gold Roman, dagger and baton numerals, circular case with stepped bezel and downturned teardrop lugs, case, dial and movement signed, with a modern 18k gold Vacheron Constantin buckle.
Condition
The watch was recently overhauled at the Vacheron Constantin factory in Geneva. The case with minor surface wear and in overall excellent condition although it appears to have been detailed. The dial is very clean and appears to have been expertly reprinted (presumably by Vacheron Constantin). The movement is running and repeat mechanism chiming in phase, but we recommend service soon. Band is reptile.
