The present manuscript represents one of numerous attempts made by Einstein between late 1929 and early 1931 to reconsider the field equations of his distant parallelism theory, based on more comprehensive studies of the criterion of compatibility between these equations. It relates to the paper entitled "Auf die Riemann-Metrik und den Fern-Parallelismus gegrundete einheitliche Feldtheorie", which Einstein published in Mathematische Annalen in 1930. On the second page of the manuscript there are various calculations and diagrams, which do not appear to relate to the preceding text.
