CATALOGUE NOTE
The sculpture 'Pegasus' by Émile Louis Picault is among the various bronzes by his hand that have been exhibited at the Salon in Paris. Many of them have been edited in various sizes by well known founders, for example Colin and Houdebine. The sculpture on sale is a fine, large cast. A smaller cast is illustrated in H. Berman, Bronzes - sculptors & founders 1800-1930, Chicago 1974, p. 789.
