Catalogue Note

Cornelius Varley visited North Wales in 1802 and 1803, firstly with his brother, John, and then with William Havell.  The drawing of Llanllyfni, Carnarvonshire included in the present lot is a study for a larger watercolour dating from either his 1802 or 1803 Welsh tour.
